34 Hardtop Express and Sabre 38 Express | 42 Hardtop Express and 52 Salon Express

The hull and deck parts for the Sabre 52 Salon Express are being laminated at the Sabre facility in Rockland, Maine then trucked to Raymond for assembly.
The hull plug was a few days late arriving from the tooling shop in Ft Myers, Florida but that time has now been made back up with a strong effort on the part of the Sabre tooling group. Hull #1 is going to start lamination this week.
Sabre is currently working on the preliminary brochure for the 52 and hope to have something in your hands by August 1st. Sabre will be distributing copies of the Davis renderings along with preliminary specifications, before that publication date.
This week Sabre had a visit from Milton Cat, our Caterpillar engine distributor. They are really encouraged by their approach to the C15 engine and the results they have experienced so far. The C15 uses the Acert technology and is an in line 6 cylinder 14.6 liter engine which offers one of the best power to weight ratios (1.69 lbs per brake horsepower) in the business. These engines are covered by the CAT Platinum warranty of two years or 1000 hours. Clients can extend the Platinum warranty for up to five years and then renew again for another five years if they so choose. The cost of the extensions is very reasonable and can be obtained by contacting your local CAT distributor (see CAT.com). CAT will be doing initial set and sea trials on each installation there in Maine and in addition they will be performing a customer hand over with each client once commissioning has been completed. They are very anxious to make sure that each pair of these motors is performing to the clients expectations.
More big news in this drive train. Sabre has decided to make standard the Twin Disc Quick Shift transmission, which most builders offer as an option at a large additional expense. If you haven't driven one, try get aboard a boat with this gear. No more jumping into gear. Just smooth shifts. No "clunks" as she drops into forward or reverse. Low speed maneuverability like you won't believe.
Just one more standard feature on a yacht which is already loaded with the best gear available.
