72 Exterior
The 72 Motor Yacht's 20'2" beam provides for a 284-square-foot showroom finished to the high standards that Hatteras Yachts owners have come to expect, with a variety of interior wood selections in either high-gloss or satin finish.
In the salon, a large settee with chaise lounge offers storage and seating, along with a comfortable view of the 42-inch plasma TV, which is perfectly angled toward the sofa. Adjacent to this angled cabinetry is an area designed to house an optional sunken bar with a sink and refrigerator. Cleverly concealed behind this area is discreet access to the engine room and aft stateroom below. Forward on the main deck, you'll find china and glass storage and a large buffet to starboard. A formal dining table to port seats six comfortably.
One step up to the galley, a full walk-in pantry to port provides ample storage for supplies. Part of this space can be modified to incorporate an optional day head on the main level. The galley itself features granite countertops, a 42-inch upright Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, four-burner cook-top and microwave convection oven. Deep storage drawers in the galley island and overhead cabinets provide an abundance of storage. For privacy, an optional pocket door at the aft end of the galley can be closed to seal off the galley area from the dining room and salon.
Forward of the galley, you will find a large, country kitchen-style dinette with stone countertop for casual dining. For easy access to and from the boat, the Hatteras 72 Motor Yacht provides port and starboard access doors on either side of the galley. An optional helm with a single pedestal chair is available for those that require a lower helm station.
Lower Decks
Below deck, the 72 Motor Yacht is configured with three staterooms and three private heads, providing for ample room for family and guests. Those who prefer additional sleeping accommodations can choose an optional fourth stateroom with over/under berths.
A wide staircase leads to the staterooms below and offers access to a large storage locker for supplemental supplies. Concealed under the staircase is a side-by-side washer and dryer, accessible from the lower companionway.
Moving aft, the owner will enjoy a full-beam master stateroom featuring a king-sized berth, cedar-lined, walk-in hanging locker, dressers and nightstands to port and starboard, and an entertainment center featuring a 27-inch LCD TV. A sitting area forward provides room to relax, while six oversized port lights allow ambient light to fill the compartment. Various options allow the owner to fit the master suite with an office or additional hanging lockers. The master head features stone flooring and countertops with dual sinks. An optional his-and-hers head with centerline shower and/or tub is also available.
The bow stateroom, similar to other Hatteras models, features a walk-around queen berth that hinges to gain access to the cedar-lined storage below. An optional 20-inch LCD TV is available for entertainment. Storage is abundant with a cedar-lined hanging locker and hull side cabinets to port and starboard.
The athwartship guest stateroom to port also features a walk-around queen berth that hinges to gain access to the cedar-lined storage below. Nightstands on either side provide storage, as does a full-size cedar-lined hanging locker. An optional port light for ambient light is available.
Situated to starboard, the optional fourth stateroom offers over/under berths with closet and nightstand, in lieu of the lounge area in the master suite.
Optional Aft Crew or VIP Stateroom
Owners can access the engine room through a discreet staircase in the salon, or through a watertight door on the sport deck. Either access point leads to a utility room that can be equipped with either an optional crew's quarters or VIP stateroom.
With the crew quarters option, the owner gets a utility room and "wet" head with shower, queen bunk, closet, nightstand and TV. The VIP stateroom option offers an athwartship queen with private head and separate shower, and access stairs from the salon that lead directly into to the engine room so the crew can access working components without disturbing guests.
With the wide variety of bunk options and layout choices, the 72 Motor Yacht offers some of the most flexible sleeping arrangements of any vessel in the Hatteras fleet.
